Lahore, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf urged all political parties to shun differences and work together for strengthening the country.
Talking to editors here on Saturday he said Pakistan Peoples Party was committed to avoid politics of confrontation. “We want to focus on resolving national issues and problems through mutual consultations.”
Raja Ashraf hoped the opposition will respond positively to his offer on consultation for the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner.
He said government has taken measures to attract maximum foreign investment in the country and these have already shown positive results.
He said Inter Provincial meeting will soon be convened to discuss necessary preventive measures in view of upcoming monsoon rains in the country. Provincial Governments have been directed to take all possible steps on war-footings to face any eventuality.
Prime Minister said journalists being opinion makers should play due role in strengthening democratic system and tackle challenges confronting the nation. Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa and Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira were also present.
