Islamabad : Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that resolving the problems being faced by the people of Balochistan and ensuring peace and security of their lives and property is the top most priority of the government.
This he said while talking to Minister for Defense, Syed Naveed Qamar who called on him here Wednesday.
The Prime Minister reiterated the government’s call to Baloch leaders to come forward and discuss ways and means to resolve the issue confronting the people of Balochistan.
The Defense Minister apprised the Prime Minister about the proceedings of the Cabinet Committee on Balochistan. He informed the Prime Minister that the Committee in its third meeting recorded views and heard briefings from various stakeholders.
He said that the Committee has decided to visit Balochistan in the near future to ascertain the views of local leadership.
Syed Naveed Qamar also apprised the Prime Minister that all members of the Committee are taking keen interest in the deliberations.
He said that a comprehensive report on Balochistan would be submitted to the Cabinet covering all aspects of the issue within the stipulated time, he assured.
The Prime Minister appreciated the work of the Cabinet Committee on Balochistan for its dedication and commitment.
He expressed the confidence that the Committee would come out with useful recommendations which would herald an era of peace and prosperity in Balochistan.
