Islamabad,There is no record showing former president Pervez Musharraf gifted his Chak Shahzad farmhouse to his wife, a court has been told.
“The Capital Development Authority (CDA) submitted its reply to the court a couple of days back and rejected the claim of Sheba Musharraf that her husband had gifted the farmhouse to her in 2002,” The Dawn quoted CDA’s Estate Management Director Waqar Khan, as telling the Rawalpindi Anti-terrorism Court.
The court issued arrest warrant for Musharraf and ordered confiscation of his movable and non-movable property in coneection with the Benazir Bhutto murder case.
A petitioner Sehba Musharraf later claimed that the house was not in Musharraf’s name and thus could not be seized.
“We have replied that the farmhouse cannot be de-attached because according to the CDA record the property is owned by Mr Musharraf and not by his wife,” a CDA official said
“We have thoroughly checked our record according to which Gen Musharraf is the sole owner of the farmhouse,” the official added.
He said Musharraf’s farmhouse was seized on the directives of the court in connection with Benazir Bhutto’s murder case in which he was accused of failing to provide adequate security to her.
