Ajmer Sharif : The donation of $1 million announced by Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari during his visit Sunday to dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti will be spent on education, health and other welfare activities in Ajmer, shrine authorities said on Monday.
“The donation will be put to use for noble causes including education, health, religious functions and financial help for widows among others,” said Wahid Chishti, secretary of Anjuman Syed Zadgan, a custodian body of the shrine. President Zardari, his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other members of delegation offered prayers on Sunday at dargah. “Anjuman spends lot of money for cause of education, runs one English medium higher secondary school and a seminary in Ajmer,” Natiq Chishti, a khadim told India, Asia News Service IANS.
