Contaminated canal water spreads diseases

Talhar :   The supply of contaminated canal water has spread different waterborne diseases in Talhar taluka, creating a lot of problems for poor villagers.

As per details, locales here are forced to drink contaminated water of canals, as there is no facility to clean and treat this water. As a result waterborne diseases including gastro, eye infections and skin ailments are on the rise in whole area.

The government hospitals and dispensaries have no proper stock of medicines. Moreover, doctors and paramedics often do not attend their duties due to rife corruption and political interference in health department. The villagers demand of the government to ensure treatment of water so that to save people from the waterborne diseases.
