Measles claim two lives in Lakki Marwat

Lakki Marwat, KPK,  The outbreak of measles in suburban areas of Lakki city took two lives including a boy and a girl in Wanda Paida Khan late Monday night.

Reports suggest that contagious disease of Measles has spread in the adjoining villages of Lakki Marwat city and is likely to spread at a large scale.

Hospital sources said that in a village Wanda Painda Khan, some 12 kilometers away from here, two kids contracted the disease and were, unfortunately, treated by an Operation Theatre Assistant who introduces himself a doctor, and presently deputed at Tajori Hospital.

The condition of the two kids   six-year Obaidullah S/O Hameedullah and three-year Asia Bibi D/O Habibullah deteriorated further and were shifted to City Hospital late night where no doctors were available on duty. Later, the Medical Superintendent Ghulam Ali arrived who diagnosed the disease as measles but by the time both the children took last breath.

Health Department sources said that soon as the authorities were informed about the measles  spread they forthwith sent teams of Paramedics to fight against the disease in the affected area.
