SIALKOT: The hundreds of the male and female activists of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) participated in anti-power outages protest rally, which was led by PML-N Central Leader and MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif here on Monday.
The rally began from PML-N Central Office Paris Road Sialkot and ended congested Allama Iqbal Chowk. The protesting people were carrying agitational banners and placards and they chanted anti-government slogans.
While lodging a strong protest against the power outages, MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif said that the daily power outages bring the industrial wheel to halt that multiplied the miseries of the masses.
He said that the PPP federal government has forced the Sialkot traders, industrialists and exporters to come on roads to lodge protest against unscheduled load shedding of electricity.
He said that only 150 megawatts uninterrupted power supply was direly needed, which could save the Sialkot industries from disaster. He revealed that the daily unscheduled and forced load shedding has badly affected the 80 percent industrial production and exports in Sialkot, as the foreign buyers were canceling their orders placed to Sialkot exporters.
The PML-N has strongly rejected the recent massive hike in POL prices and increase in power tariff by the government, adding that this raise in POL price would badly affect the power and gas outages beaten export industries of Sialkot.
They termed the decision a bomb for export industry of Sialkot, saying that it would also ruin SMEs based industry of Sialkot. He said that decision seemed a conspiracy against the government. This hike would prove a cut-throat for industrial sector, which was already striving for its survival due to unending unscheduled load shedding of electricity and gas.
He said that the situation had become unbearable for the dying people. He also strongly criticized the PPP government for this massive hike in POL prices.
