Ratodero, Sindh, Gas bill dues have shot up to Rs:43.428 million up to March 2012 to various Health Institutions of Sindh for which the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) authorities have written a letter to the Secretary, Health Department to clear without further delay or face disconnection without further notice.
Health Department has sent copies of this letter to all its health institutions in the province directing them to make payments after reconciliation of the gas dues with SSGC at the earliest without fail.
These Institutions include JPMC Hospital, Liyari General Hospital, Civil Hospital, Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, Sindh Government Hospital Korangi-5 and North Karachi. Dues of these Hospitals are Rs.24,666,920. The dues against Government Shah Bhittai Hospital & Government Hospital, Paretabad, Hyderabad, range up to Rs.582,390. Chandka Medical College, its 6 hostels, Pathology Department, Chandka Medical College Hospital & Shaikh Zayyed Hospital for Women, Hospital, Larkana’s dues are Rs.13,833,960. Civil Hospital and its six bungalows dues are Rs.2,567,980. Civil Hospital, Jacobabad and its colony dues are 650,840. Civil Hospital, Thatta and its Nursing Training Centre’s dues are Rs.1,025,325 and Taluka Hospital, Tando Adam dues are Rs.100,730.
All Operation Theaters of the Hospitals are running on gas which is used for sterilization and other purposes and without gas supply these will come to standstill.
