ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Communications Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan has said that democracy is the accountability of the politicians and they will have to face the consequences of their performance in the next election.
He was addressing a public gathering and talking to media men on inauguration of Double Phattak Flyover which performed by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gillani in Multan on Friday.
Construction of Double Phattak flyover, Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan said, was a long standing demand of people which was included in package III of Multan Inner City Ring Road Project.
He said this package has cost Rs.1596 Million. In order to ensure safe, smooth and fast traffic flow in congested city of Multan 6x interchanges have been completed at cost of Rs.3.58 billion. Inner City Ring Project will seep discipline traffic inside city of the Multan.
Dr. Arbab Alamgir termed communications development projects in Southern Punjab a gift of the democratic Government, which will generate opportunities of agricultural and industrial development and people will avail more job chances.
Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan said that supremacy of constitution and rule of law provide guarantee for national integrity. He told, that public development schemes amounting to Rs. 50 billion are in progress in Southern Punjab which mainly include Multan-Khanewal Motorway, Multan Urban areas, upgradation of Bosan Road, Guide Bank of Mooosa Pak Shaheed Bridge, upgradation of Jalalpur Pirwala Road, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Bridge at Nishtar Ghat Bridge and restoration of Old Shujaabad Road. Our endeavor is to complete the balance work of projects by April 2012.
Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan also visited Head Muhammad Wala Bridge compled including approach roads at cost of rupees more than 2179 Million. The bridge will be inaugurated today.
