Islamabad, President, Awami National Party ANP Asfandyar Wali Khan Thursday said his party would continue its support for the PPP-led coalition government.
Talking to newsmen after a high level party meeting attended by its senior leaders, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, MNAs, Senators, Asfandyar Wali said ANP would “not support any unconstitutional action and if any institution takes such action we will stop them.
“ANP would never support any confrontation between the state institutions. My party will play whatever role is possible in order to defuse the current tense situation. The future of Pakistan lies in democracy democratic system and political stability,” he emphasized.
Answering a question, he observed that in politics there is “always room for give and take. I do not believe in the point of no return.”
Asked about Supreme Court verdict on National Reconciliation Ordinance NRO implementation, ANP President said the matter was subjudice.
