ISLAMABAD, To promote healthy activities among the youth of the Federal Capital, government will organize sports gala including Cricket, Football, Hockey, Badminton and other sports.
This was announced by the Chief Coordinator to the Prim Minister on Islamabad Affairs, Faisal Sakhi Butt while speaking on the eve of ongoing Media Cricket Tournament here on Monday. Media Cricket Tournament, which has been organized by the National Press Club (NPC) in collaboration with CDA and is being participated by 40 teams from different newspapers and television channels.
Faisal Sakhi Butt said that like other regions of the country, there is a lot of talent in Islamabad, which needs proper attention, adding that the government will arrange mega sports gala to provide opportunities to the talented young sportsmen to show their skills in different sports tournaments. He said that prominent sports clubs of the city will participate in the mega event. He said that the players on their best performance would be given sports opportunities in other cities while different sport teams would also be invited for sports events in the Federal Capital.
Chief Coordinator to the Prim Minister on Islamabad Affairs, Faisal Sakhi Butt said that 35 acres of land has been allotted to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for establishment of an International Cricket Ground where cricket matches on international level would be played. He said that international cricket activities in Islamabad will provide opportunities to the residents of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to see their heroes.
He lauded the performances of the players and assured his all possible support to the press club. On this occasion President of National Press Club, Farooq Faisal Khan, Afzal Javed and other office bearers of the press club and social activist, Chaudhry Jehangir were also present.
