Karachi : A policeman was killed while three others including SHO Malir City were injured in an encounter with criminals wanted to police in case of murder of Ex-President Malir Bar Association and his son, police said on Saturday.
The encounter took place in the wee hours of the day near Malir Flyover, and official Salman Shah at Malir City police station said.
The police earlier arrested an accused namely Mohsin, 25, in killing case of Advocate Salahuddin and his son Ali Raza and on the basis of information gleaned from him, the police raided a hideout of criminals.
Seeing the police, the armed men opened fire resulting in death of cop and injuries to others. Police arrested of an accused Kalo, 28, whereas his six to seven accomplices managed to flee.
The victim was identified as Constable Parwiaz Iqbal, 29, while SHO Ismail Lashari, 45, Constable Khan Mohammad, 42, and constable Sabir, 42 were wounded.
The body and injured were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
