Karachi : To mark World Wish Day throughout the world, Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan joined hands with Sindh Police to grant the wish of Make-A-Wish child Azim Ahmed, 13 years old suffering from life-threatening illness, who wished to be a Policeman.
In a graceful ceremony at Police Head Office Karachi, Additional I.G. Sindh Police Akhtar Gorchani inducted Azim Ahmed in Police and decorated him with badges on his Police uniform.
After becoming the youngest Police Officer, Azim along with Addl. I.G. Police inspected the Police Guard Unit and taken to Control Room at Police Head Office and shown Police monitoring activities.
In a Police Mobile, Azim went for patrolling of the city, where he received a call on wireless about a house Dacoity in Defence area. He rushed to the crime scene and arrested the Dacoits.
Azim also inspected Darakshan Police Station where he was awarded a Certificate for his bravery by Additional I.G. Police Akhtar Gorchani who lauded the unique work of Make-A-Wish Pakistan is doing and said it is an honour for Police Department that an ailing child wished to be a Policeman which shows that Pakistani children look at Police as their Heroes. Gorchani congratulated Azim Ahmed for becoming the youngest Police Officer of Pakistan.
The Founding President Make-A-Wish Foundation Pakistan Ishtiaq Baig appreciated the efforts of Sindh Police for granting the wish of Azim Ahmed in a unique way and presented a Crest of the organization to Addl. I.G. Sindh.
