JI to hold National Conference on May 12 Carnage

Karachi :  Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi has announced holding a national conference on May 12, the day which witnessed massacre in the city on the arrival of Chief Justice of Pakistan in 2007.

The target killings and other violence in Karachi is continuity of massacre that took place here on May 12, 2007. No one could forget this carnage,  JI leader Muhammad Hussain Mahnati said at a press conference on Saturday.  Had the government conducted judicial probe of this carnage timely, there would not have been the violence and killings that have engulfed the city now.

The JI leader demanded judicial probe of the target killings and other violence and bringing the culprits to task.

Mahnati said leaders of different political parties would address the national conference on the important issue.  Karachi once called as City of Lights is now known as City of Target Killings, Extortion, Kidnapping for Ransom and Street Crimes.

He demanded immediate arrest of those who ordered blocking the way of rallies meant for welcoming the Chief Justice,  and killing of innocent people on May 12, 2007.
