Karachi : Expressing keen interest in mechanical slaughtering of cattle in Karachi, the visiting Lord Mayor of Mashhad, Iran, Syed Muhammad Pezhman has said that both countries would soon sign an accord to provide people healthy meat through advanced slaughtering houses.
He expressed these views during a visit to City Abattoir, Landhi on Saturday. He said Pakistan was amongst top manufacturers of fruits, vegetables, rice, cotton and livestock while its textile and leather products were highly used in Iran as well as other foreign countries. He said Pakistan could provide healthy and fresh meat to Mashhad as around 20 million people annually visit the city that requires huge quantity of fruits, vegetables and meat for their consumption.
Municipal Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan told Mr. Pezhman that City Abattoir in Landhi was Pakistan s biggest slaughter house that has the capacity to provide 360tonnes healthy meat.
