ECP declares Aqil Shah degree as fake

Peshawar : Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Friday declared the academic degrees of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa sports minister, Aqil Shah as fake and sends the case to a session judge.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has passed the judgment after hearing the cases of Aqil Shah and federal minister Umar Gorgaij. ECP declares Umar Gorgaij s academic credentials as genuine however it pronounced that two degrees of Aqil Shah as fake.

ECP found that Aqil Shah had submitted three degrees which he claimed were attained from Punjab University, Karachi s institute and the other from American College Lahore however non of them found genuine.

On other hand the provincial minister for sports and tourism Syed Aqil Shah, who wing the election on ANP ticket from PK-4 Peshawar, while commenting on the decision of ECP said he didn t even submit his certificates for the scrutiny.

According a private TV channel, Aqil Sha said if he did not submit the degrees for verification then how it could be declared fake. It is a conspiracy shah, said the TV channel quoted him.

It is to be mentioned here that Aqil Shah is on of the key minister of ANP, earlier was heading departments of archeology, tourism, sports and culture. However, later he relinquished the department of culture.

Presenting he is looking after the affairs of sports, tourism and archeology beside keeping a key position in Pakistan Olympic Association.
