Peshawar ,The Provincial Government while rejecting the protest from Ulemas has clarified that no verse regarding Jihad has been deleted from the Islamic studies for metric rather some changes has been made to categorize the course of Islamic studies for different classes.
The Ulemas who are protesting are actually misguiding the public. Due to delay in publication of Islamic Studies course for class 10th, 11 and 12th the government has therefore decided the new course for class 9th and 10th will be taught from 2013 instead of this year, said Provincial Minister for Education Sardar Hussain Babak while addressing an emergency press conference at Peshawar Press Club on Tuesday.
Babak said the lesson regarding the life of Holly Prophet has not been deleted from Islamic studies rather it has been included in the course of next class. The course will be harmonized to match the requirements of the modern ages, the minister said.
Criticizing the MMA government and religious parties the minister said ANP government has increased the number of Islamic Studies from 75 to 100 and also made it compulsory for class 11 and 12 whereas the number of Hadice in the course have also been increased to 25 which were 20 in the previous course.
After 18th amendment, Babak said the ANP government had advertised in the papers to get suggestions and proposals from the clerics to prepare new a course but not body had contacted the government therefore those are protested now will not be consulted about the course at this stage.
The protesters always wrongly interpreted the meaning of Jihad therefore we will teach the real meaning of Jihad to the students, the minister concluded.
