Peshawar ,The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Finance, Engr. Muhammad Humayun Khan has said that PPP was the party of labourers, peasants, students, poors and suppressed classes of the society which has always forceful raised voice for their rights and had never-ever thought compromising on their rights. He said that whatever prestige and honor, the party and its leaders have achieved was only due to the confidence of these poor and working class.
He was addressing a public meeting at Alladhand Dheri, District Malakand on Tuesday. The meeting was also addressed by devoted and stanch local leader of the party, Haji Abdul Kabir Khan and former District Nazim Ghufran Advocate. Both these leaders termed the developmental works in the area during the last four years unprecedented and demanded further developmental schemes in view of the backwardness of the area.
The Provincial Finance Minister said that their resources were limited and the problems were unlimited. He stressed the need for giving priority to the schemes of collective interests instead of personal gains.
He said that work on the Dera Alladhand Irrigation Channel at a cost of Rs. 220 million and medaling of Betkhela Alladhand Thana Road with an estimated cost of Rs. 90 million was in completion stage whereas work on various other developmental schemes costing Rs. 190 million in the area including flood protection spur, construction of Dheri Khwarh Road, purchase of equipments for rural health centre, construction of buildings for Govt: Primary Schools Bagh Dara, Hathi Dara and Zalam Kot, installation of hand pumps in various streets and construction of buildings for Govt: Higher Secondary School Alladhand Dheri was in progress. On completion of the schemes, the dwellers of the area would feel a positive change in their lives.
Referring to the menace of load shedding, the minister said that Shaheed Benazir Bhutto evolved an energy policy during her government envisaging construction of new dams but unluckily the same was abundant by Mian Nawaz Sharif after coming into power and resultantly the whole nation is suffering load shedding today.
Humayun Khan said that had the incoming government continued energy policy of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed, we would have not seen such difficulties as a result of power shortage today. He while referring to the rest problems of the area announced further 10 million rupees and stressed the need for constitution of a joint committee to prioritize the developmental schemes.
Later the Provincial Minister inaugurated construction work over the upgrading higher secondary school Alladhand Dheri by unveiling the plaque which would cost Rs. 187 million.
In the meanwhile the provincial mistier also attended a luncheon hosted in his honour by Fazal Khuda Khan of Dheri which was largely attended by elites of the area and mediamen.
