Young doctors stage strike, CM takes notice

QUETTA :  Balochistan Young Doctors Association has boycott and stopped work at Out Patients Departments at government hospitals.

President Young Doctors Association Dr Alam Mengal told journalists today that  doctors have boycotted OPDs in protest  action of Punjab government against the young doctors and misbehavior against them. They said during their boycott young doctors would not attend OPDs at government hospitals. However they would work at the emergency and operation theatres.

Provincial Health Minister Ainullah Shams told newsmen at Press Club here today that strike of young doctors in Balochistan is illegal. If Media supports government action would be taken against young doctors. None would be allowed to observe strike at the government hospitals. He said Balochistan Young Doctors Association It should get registered with PMA first.

He said people should come to rods against young doctors strike because this strike would cause problems for poor masses. If young doctors did not announce end to their strike, Health Department would take action against them. He said new doctors can be posted in place of young doctors if they failed to call off their strike.

Meanwhile Balochistan Chief Minsiter Nawab Aslam Raisani has taken serious notice of strike by young doctors Association in Quetta.

He said that strict action would be taken against striking doctors. NO OPD in hospitals in Quetta would be allowed to close, he added.
