QUETTA : Police has rounded up important gang involve din abduction for ransom in Quetta and Chaman. They have admitted of several incidents in Afghanistan besides Pakistan.

This was disclosed by Capital City Police Officer Abdul Razzaq Cheema at a Press conference here Thursday.

CCPO said Dr Muhammad Ahmed was abducted from airport road Quetta four months ago who was released after payment of Rupees13 million ransom. Police registered a case and started investigation. SP CIA Shaukat Ali Khan and other officers traced a gang of abductors. After an encounter with police Fazlur Rehman Alkozai, Muhammad Yusuf Qari, Amir Muhammad, Viki, Gul Jan, were arrested. One kalashinkov and a tt pistol was recovered from their possession. They admitted that they had realised Rupees 13 million to release Dr Muhammad Ahmed. He was kept in a house in Shaikhmanda and they taken to Chaman.

He said Zareef Noorzai of Dairy owner was abducted form Mitha Chowk who was kept at house of Abdullah Agha in Chaman. He was released after receiving Rupees 3 million. They also abducted Dr Mubashar in Chaman  and after keeping him in a house owned by a woman kept in custody for one and half months in Toba Achakzai and later shifted to Afghanistan. They received Rupees 12 million for his release from Abdul Rehman in Iran and Dubai.

They abducted Wasay Agha from Almo Chowk seven months ago and released him after payment of rupees 3 million.

CCPO said Abdullah Agha, Agha Wali, Jamaluddin, Juma Khan Nassar, Ibrahim and Allah Nazar are involved in these incidents and are at large.

He said a team of senior officers was investigating these accused.

He aid on Dec 18 SHO Shokat Jadoon informed that a police party was carrying out checking in Koocha Sher Muhammad Zaman Street. Two [persons riding a motorcycle whom he signalled to stop. But they opened fire on police party. ASI Toheed Ahmed and a passer by were injured. Police in self defence opened fire and arrested Ghulam Ali Zehri who was injured. His accomplice Salman however ran away.

CCPO Razzaq Cheema said Police has started serious measures for eliminating crimes form Quetta city. We removed tinted glasses form vehicles without any announcement. A strategy has been evolved to trace illegal vehicles with the help of Customs, Excise and FC and police officials have been imparted training in this regard. Data of vehicles stolen during past 10 years has been spread all over Pakistan and shortly recoveyr of these vehicles would start.

He said record has been prepared of 6500 proclaimed offenders and soon action would be taken against them.

He said action would be taken against police official who alters record or does not record FIR of crime.
