Karachi, Department of Botany, University of Karachi, is initiating a merit-cum-need based departmental scholarship program to provide opportunities of attaining unhindered higher education to those students of the Department of Botany who despite academic merit are unable to pursue their studies due to financial constraints.
In this regard a scholarship management committee (SMC) has been constituted comprising chairperson and faculty members of the department. University’s Students Financial Aid office has already been taken into confidence. Funds for the program are generated by the teaching and non-teaching staff of the department. Some philanthropists of the city have also voluntarily participated in the program.
