Mourners subjected to force in Srinagar, dozens injured

Srinagar,  In occupied Kashmir, scores of mourners were injured when Indian police and paramilitary personnel resorted to brute force and fired teargas shells to quell Muharram processions in Srinagar.

According to Kashmir Media Service, despite curfew and other restrictions, the mourners assembled in Jehangir Chowk and Maisuma areas and tried to march ahead but Indian police and paramilitary personnel resorted to brute force to disperse them resulting into injuring of several people. The police also arrested dozens of them.

Senior APHC leader, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi in a media interview strongly denounced the use of brute force by the occupation forces on peaceful mourners. He deplored that India had usurped all rights of the people in the occupied territory.
