Lahore, The Lahore High Court has completed the proceedings on petitions of contempt of court, filed against President Asif Ali Zardari for holding dual posts.
A three-member bench headed by, Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial, was hearing the contempt of court case against Zardari, reports The Dawn.
Various lawyers presented their arguments saying Zardari should follow the court”s orders.
CJ Bandial, responding to the arguments, said the issue under consideration has constitutional importance and the verdict will also be in accordance with the constitution of Pakistan.
He further added that the court will provide Zardari with ample time to resign from his post as the co-chairperson of Pakistan People”s Party (PPP) and suspend political activities in the President House.
The court has given one more chance to Zardari and has adjourned the hearing indefinitely.
