PPP rally at Sindh-Punjab border on Saturday, national highway closed for 36 hours

Ubauro, Sindh, As the PPP is finalizing the arrangements to hold historic public rally at Sindh-Punjab border on May 12 evening, the national highway authority has closed the national highway for 36 hours from Rohri to Ubauro for all kinds of traffic leading to Punjab on technical grounds and advised the transporters to adopt alternate routes from Jacobabad and Kandhkot.

The venue of the public rally is the same where Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had staged the rally at Kamo Shaheed point of Sindh-Punjab border after PML-N chief and then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had announced construction of Kala Bagh Dam in 1998.

This time the PPP Sindh announced holding public rally at same point to retaliate PML-N’s threat of long march against the government.

Provincial ministers Jam Mahtab Dahar and Jam Saifullah Dharejo, MNA Mian abdul Haq and MPA Jam Ikramullah, hailing from Ghotki district are present to supervise the public rally arrangements while federal minister for religious affairs Syed Khurshid Shah had been visiting the venue daily since last three days.

All the PPP members of national and provincial assembly, senators and other party leaders would attend the rally to be addressed by Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and other leaders. The party has claimed participation of one million people from Sukkur and Larkana divisions however the workers from all over would also attend the rally that would start after 4.00p.m on Saturday.

The big police contingents from Karachi and other parts of Sindh have been called to the venue of rally.
