Prime Minister says Supreme Court not disqualified him, PML-N follow Constitution, if it has courage impeach President, bring no-confidence motion against me in National Assembly

Lahore :  Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani says Supreme Court has not disqualified him in contempt of court case, PML-N should follow the Constitution, if it has courage impeach the President and bring no-confidence motion against him in National Assembly.

“If anyone has and courage to impeach the President (Asif Ali Zardari) and bring no-confidence motion against me, they should do that,” he told newsmen Friday after meeting PML-Q President Ch. Shujaat Hussain, top PML-Q leader and Senior Federal Minister Ch. Pervez Elahi at Ch. Shujaat’s residence here.

Ch. Shujaat said that Gilani was still the Prime Minister and those who deny this fact had themselves (PML-N) attacked the Supreme Court earlier.

Gilani said that PML-N members should first resign from the assemblies before talking about starting long march against the government.

Answering a question, Prime Minister said decision to reopen NATO ground supply routes through Pakistan to Afghanistan had not yet been taken by the government.

He said NATO Secretary General had extended unconditional invitation to President Asif Zardari for attending May 21-22 Chicago Summit on Afghanistan.

Gilani said he agreed with Ch. Shujaat’s formula for ending load shedding in the country. He said PPP-led coalition government has set priorities in next financial year 2012-13 Budget to end load shedding, more jobs, no new taxes and relief to agriculture sector and poor people.
