Islamabad : Dr. Fauzia Qureshi, Consultant of Project of Conservation and Preservation of Cultural Heritage, Multan and former Principal of National College of Arts, called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at PM’s House here Friday.
She presented a draft of book titled Multan A Spiritual Legacy which would be the first publication of its kind containing documents of 50 monuments of Multan in terms of architectural drawings and detailed photography alongwith historical background.
It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had directed the then Ministry of Culture, government of Pakistan, for undertaking restoration and conservation of monuments of the city. The Prime Minister asked Prof Fauzia Qureshi to commence work on the priority outlined earlier by the Ministry of Culture.
The Prime Minister presented a cheque of Rs 2 million to Prof Fauzia for publication of the book titled Multan A Spiritual Legacy .
Prof Fauzia said that she would soon commence restoration work on Mohallah Gilanian of Uch Sharif.
