Karachi, Quarter finals in the 14th Youth Bridge Championships concluded last evening at Taicang city of China. The 20 Teams were competing in open event while 18 teams competing youngsters group and 10 in girls category.
In the Open event, the qualifiers like Netherlands, Australia and China won their matches on easier terms, while Italy bowed down to Israel after a hard battle. Netherlands outscored new comers Singapore 165-81, Australia pushed down USA1 160 99 while China outscored France 213-103. Italy lost to Israel by the closed margin of 165-142.
Now Netherlands will face Australia and Israel will tackle the cards against China. It is difficult to say at this stage, however, as the cards are lying, it seems that Netherlands and China will enter the final.
In the Youngsters category at the quarter finals, Poland defeated England 194-134, France edged out Italy 166-94, USA 1 pushed down Australia 147-122 and Israel 143 won against Sweden 136. Now Poland is taking France and USA1 facing Israel in the semis.
Semi-final in Girls category has already started between Netherland and Italy at Table 1, while USA1 is facing Israel.
